Summary

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base (DIB) Facilities and the Major Range and Test Facilities Base (MRTFB) in the Department of Defense to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Serve as a technical advisor securing critical mission systems, conducting vulnerability assessments, evaluating compliance with risk frameworks, and guiding leadership on cybersecurity.

Duties

  • Serve as a cybersecurity technical advisor and consultant for mission programs to provide guidance on security measures.
  • Perform system vulnerability assessments using approved enterprise automated scanning and compliance tools to identify security weaknesses.
  • Evaluate system compliance with established cybersecurity requirements to support risk management assessment and authorization activities.
  • Deliver technical briefings and cybersecurity status updates to diverse audiences and senior leadership.
  • Plan and coordinate security analysis testing to validate that newly implemented systems meet mandatory security controls.

Qualifications

You must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies: 1) Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. 2) Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. 3) Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. 4) Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. In addition to the four competencies listed above, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal Service which includes: (1) Performing system and network vulnerability assessments using enterprise-level scanning and automated analysis tools to ensure compliance with established cybersecurity policies and standards; (2) Providing technical guidance and recommendations to stakeholders on mitigating cybersecurity risks and ensuring information system compliance with comprehensive risk management frameworks; AND (3) Developing, maintaining, and updating information system security documentation (e.g., security plans, assessment reports, or plan of action and milestones) and presenting technical briefings on cybersecurity posture to various audiences.
