Summary

About the Position: Multiple positions will be filled for multiple shifts to include first and third shift.

Duties

• Work on unusually complex equipment and machinery to install, repair, and overhaul.
• Perform precise measurements of air and fluid pressure and flow.
• Interpret and apply the requirements contained in technical manuals and shop directives.
• Use a variety of complex optical and laser light measuring devices.
• Determine resources and materials necessary to accomplish a broad range of programmed machining functions.
• Ensure that the equipment and all its integral devices are functioning properly.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Production Machinery Mechanic without more than normal supervision. - You must demonstrate the ability to install, troubleshoot, repair, and overhaul complex multi-axis and multi-function production machinery, including computerized numerically controlled (CNC) machines. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. To meet the basic eligibility, you must receive at least two points on the screen-out element indicated above and must have an average of two points on all the job elements listed below. Ability to Do the Work of the Position without More Than Normal Supervision Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specifications, etc. (Includes Blueprint Reading) Ability to Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, and Repair, etc. Knowledge of Materials Technical Practices (Theoretical, Precise, Artistic) Troubleshooting PHYSICAL EFFORT: Frequently handles objects weighing up to 40 pounds and occasionally carries objects weighing up to 40 pounds for considerable distance. Incumbents are required to push, pull, reach, walk, stand, crawl, kneel, bend, and climb for sustained periods of time. Sometimes works in tiring and uncomfortable positions. WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed inside and outside exposing the mechanic to the prevailing weather conditions, excessive noise, and intermittent slippery or uneven surfaces. Incumbents are constantly exposed to moving objects, elevations, and sharp edges, with the possibility of cuts and bruises. Also exposed to electric shock and burns. Grease, dirt, and dampness are frequently encountered. Incumbent is required to wear safety clothing and equipment appropriate for this position.
