This vacancy is for an Export Policy Analyst in the Bureau of Industry and Security within the Department of Commerce.

Duties

• As an Export Policy Analyst, you will perform the following duties: Serves as authoritative advisor to senior leadership in identifying, analyzing, and executing solutions to programmatic, policy, and technical export control issues Provide senior level review and comprehensive coordination of the cases escalated to the OC for review. Communicates the strategic plan, mission, vision, values, assignments, milestones and deadlines to the team and individuals based on supervisor's instructions. Performs complex regulatory reviews and associated functions which address interagency exporting communities, other government agencies and mission elements critical to agency priorities and objectives. This Job Opportunity Announcement may be used to fill other Export Policy Analyst GS-1101-13, GS-14 positions within the Department of Commerce in the same geographical location or local commuting area with the same qualifications and specialized experience.

Qualifications

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. This experience need not have been in the federal government. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies; knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: You must possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as: With minimal supervision analyzing and communicating sound and authoritative findings on complex and sensitive regulatory issues, compliance issues, policies and directives and analyzing, interpreting and conducting research in order to prepare background documentation, draft reports and white papers for senior leadership as it pertains to regulatory issues.
