Duties

  • As Property Management Specialist, GS-2001, your typical work assignments may include, but not limited to: Providing advice and guidance on all matters concerning property management as it pertains to firearms, acquisition and disposal. Reviewing and analyzing policy and procedural directives for applicability to property management programs. Responsible for property accountability, inventory and disposition of assets as they pertain to firearms and fleets. Analyzing and evaluates field reviews to confirm that personal assets (firearms) and fleet are properly accounted for in Bureau's financial automated systems and vehicle usage is appropriate monitored. Completing all reports concerning personal property (firearms) and fleet management as required by the Bureau, and the Department. Developing position papers and other decision papers on a variety of property and fleet management issues. Applying a wide variety of analytical methods, techniques, and processes in conducting studies in areas where the direction, limits, and techniques involved cannot be established in advance. Developing formal and informal briefings and make presentations to senior management on personal property (firearms) and fleet matters.

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: (OPM Operating Manual, Qualification Standards). Minimum Qualifications for the GS-12 Grade Level: The applicant must have one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level that includes: management and support of property management program; implementing policies, guidelines and procedures for personal property (firearms) and fleet management; providing advice and guidance to staff on all matters concerning property management as it pertains to firearms, acquisition and disposal; fleet management inventory, internal controls and knowledge of database management systems. All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement. Merit Promotion candidates must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the announcement closing date. Additional selections may be made from this announcement if identical vacancies occur in the same location within 90 days from the closing date.
