Summary

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base Facilities and Major Range and Test Facilities Base, NDAA 1125 (a) and (c) to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Serve as Lead Security Guard, GS-0085-07 at Tooele Army Depot.

Duties

  • Responsible for safeguarding government personnel, property, and technologies against such threats as: unlawful entry, sabotage, espionage, theft, accidental or willful damage, and destruction.
  • Grant access to those individuals that have met screening requirements and demonstrate a need to access the installation.
  • Provide significant support to the overall installation Antiterrorism/ Force Protection (AT/FP) capability.
  • Makes daily assignments to ensure that guard coverage is provided to assigned patrol areas.
  • Instruct employees in specific tasks and job techniques and provide on-the-job training to new employees in accordance with established procedures.
  • Operates and performs research queries on the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) workstation terminal(s) in accordance with (IAW) federal and state laws.
  • First responder to emergency recall and provide immediate response to active shooter and other situations such as terrorist threat, national emergencies and natural disasters.
  • Secures installation from all entry on own initiative or upon notification of alarm or emergency.
  • Detains violators, identifies witnesses and renders first aid to the injured commensurate with training and certifications
  • Ensures incident scenes are preserved for law enforcement investigators and provides written reports of findings based on criminal incidents.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience in working in a Federal, State, municipal, local or private organization that involves the protection of property against such hazards as fire, theft, damage, accident, or trespass. Writing and reviewing incident reports and/or conducting searches and inspections. Control the access of personnel and/or vehicles to the installation or facility. Responding to emergency situations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
