Summary
This position is located in the Space Portfolio Division (SPD), Facilities Services Directorate (FSD), Washington Headquarters Services (WHS), in the Office of the Deputy Chief Management Office (DCMO). SPD provides a comprehensive, centralized program for the efficient and cost effective management of all leased buildings and specific federal buildings located throughout the Washington, DC area.
Duties
- This is a Direct Hire Public Notice, under this recruitment, applications will be accepted for each location and/or installation identified in this Public Notice and selections are made for vacancies as they occur. This position is being filled under Direct Hire Authority (DHA) for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce, in accordance with Section 7, Direct Hire Auth 5 U.S.C. § 9905, 6/23/2023 Please read this Public Notice in its entirety prior to submitting your application for consideration. Incumbents typical work assignments may include the following: Manages building operations and support services for assigned large, complex leased and Federal facilities. Plans and coordinates maintenance, repairs, renovations, alterations, relocations, and space reconfigurations. Serves as COR and monitors service contracts, funding, technical requirements, and reimbursable projects. Conducts building, safety, service, and lease-compliance inspections; identifies deficiencies and implements or recommends corrective actions. Advises tenants and leadership on building operations, space utilization, safety, security, emergency planning, and facility-support requirements.
Qualifications
In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below. You may qualify at the GS-09 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service (experience may have been gained in the private sector). Specialized experience is defined as: (1) assisting with building management activities, such as receiving and tracking facility-service requests; (2) supporting facility inspections; and (3) coordinating routine maintenance, repair, custodial, or other building-support services. You may qualify at the GS-11 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service (experience may have been gained in the private sector). Specialized experience is defined as: (1) performing building management activities, such as coordinating facility-service requests, maintenance, repairs, and inspections; (2) identifying and reporting building deficiencies; and (3) communicating building-service requirements with occupants, customers, contractors, or service providers. You may qualify at the GS-12 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service (experience may have been gained in the private sector). Specialized experience is defined as: (1) managing building operations and support services for assigned facilities; (2) coordinating maintenance, repairs, inspections, and service-provider actions; (3) resolving building-related operational issues; and (4) advising customers or management on facility requirements and deficiencies. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Education
Education cannot be substituted for experience at the GS-12 grade-level. GRADUATE EDUCATION: One academic year of graduate education is considered to be the number of credits hours your graduate school has determined to represent one academic year of full-time study. Such study may have been performed on a full-time or part-time basis. If you cannot obtain your graduate school's definition of one year of graduate study, 18 semester hours (or 27 quarter hours) should be considered as satisfying the requirement for one year of full-time graduate study FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
