INDUSTRIAL SPECIALIST

Summary

You will serve as an INDUSTRIAL SPECIALIST in the SYSTEM SAFETY AND AIR SYSTEMS INTEGRATION DEPARTMENT, SYSTEM SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING DIVISION, SYSTEM SAFETY BRANCH of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV.

Duties

• You will support various Integrated Program Teams during all phases of a system’s life cycle including requirements formation, development, production, manufacturing, testing, fleet deployment, and system disposal.
• You will provide technical direction for the planning, organizing, directing, conducting, and reporting of system safety engineering in direct support of assigned programs and integrated weapons systems for air and sea applications.
• You will attend and participate in conferences, working groups, and/or technical meetings at other government activities, or contractor facilities.
• You will manage the system safety program by creating and tailoring system safety requirements for developing new specifications and modifying aircraft equipment.
• You will interpret test results and brief flight and ground test personnel on project safety plans and outcomes.
• You will ensure approved budget and expenditures of funds and supporting activities are in accordance with existing regulations and are not exceeded.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or DS-04 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing System Safety engineering support and/or technical leadership to various Integrated Program Teams; 2) Interfacing with Program and technical leadership to resolve safety issues and hazards; and 3) Applying System Safety technical acumen and expertise to assess system level hazards and execute System Safety programs.
