The primary Purpose: To manage all aspects of information systems to include acquisition, support, training, and installations for the Civil Engineer Squadron. Act as the focal point for sustaining the 21 CES legacy Automated Information Systems (AIS) and lead the unit's transformation to the next generation AIS.

Duties

  • Administers all CES information systems. Monitors ongoing operation of network systems to ensure hardware and software are functioning properly and operational standards are met. Manages life cycle of computer systems and software for CES. Provides ongoing technical support to customers to ensure proper functional use of equipment and programs and to preclude undue interruptions to Information Technology (IT) services. Manages the CES information systems security program. Information Assurance Manager (IAM) for installation Industrial Control System (ICS). Responsible for ensuring that systems are certified and accredited in accordance with DoW and AF/SF IA directives and instructions.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Positions,0335. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NK-02 (next lower grade GS-07), or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes experience with use and maintenance of computer system, equipment, and software by analyzing computer network, software and hardware problems and developing effective and economical solutions; and train users on new computer systems. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of computer and network standards, policies, and techniques. Knowledge of servers and commercial off the shelf/government off the shelf software to identify corrective or preventative actions to ensure optimum performance. Knowledge of facility environment and infrastructure to support computer systems Skills in troubleshooting, recovering, adjusting, modifying, and improving systems to solve conventional problems and provide support that minimizes interruptions in service to customers. Ability to use and maintain a computer system, equipment, and software; analyze computer network, software, and hardware problems and devl solutions; and train users on new computer systems. Ability to communicate factual and procedural information clearly, both orally and in writing. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social).
