Duties
- You will help manage the network physical security systems; SIPRNet Security, Protected Distribution System (PDS) and IP enabled Anti-terrorism/Force Protection (AT/FP) network devices.
- You will ensure compliance with Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVA), Operational Directives (OPDIR) and Marine Corp Directives (MCDs).
- You will be responsible for assignments, projects relative to Information Systems and cybersecurity matters.
- You will ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems, networks, and data through the planning, analysis, development, implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of information systems, and tools.
- You will plan and coordinate the delivery of an Information Technology (IT) security awareness training program for end users throughout the organization.
- You will develop backup procedures for recovery from loss or destruction of data and program files, or from physical damage to the installation.
- You will assist in developing policies and procedures to ensure information systems reliability and accessibility and to prevent and defend against unauthorized access to systems, networks, and data.
- You will assist with conducting risk and vulnerability assessments of planned and installed information systems to identify vulnerabilities, risks, and protection needs.
- You will work with vulnerability scanning tools and enforce Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) compliance.
Qualifications
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: Applying security policies, conducting vulnerability scans, supporting Risk Management Framework (RMF) or NIST guidelines, configuring, monitoring, and maintaining security controls on operating systems, networks, or applications. In addition to the specialized experience stated above your resume must demonstrate one year of experience supporting the following competencies: 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: reviewing and evaluating security impacts of system changes. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Provide support on IT procurement requests for software/hardware and services. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Provide training to fellow team members. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Identify resources to be protected and find solutions. Education
In lieu of specialized experience listed in the Qualifications section, applicants may qualify based on education OR equivalent combination of experience and education, as follows: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree A transcript must be submitted with your application if qualifying using education.
