Summary

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Industrial Base (DIB) & Major Range and Test Facilities Base (MRTFB) in DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Duties

  • Coordinate remanufacturing and overhaul efforts.
  • Review technical data packages (TDP) for accuracy and feasibility,
  • Assist the maintenance shops in the fulfillment of remanufacturing and repair mission.
  • Conduct research of technical literature and performance tests.
  • Develop new testing and repair capability, including development of test fixtures, procedures, etc.

Qualifications

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. GS-10 One year of specialized experience which includes:1) Installing, modifying, and/or repairing electronic systems; 2) Providing technical support to various electronic maintenance and repair activities; AND 3) Assisting in the development of standard operating procedures, repair processes, and testing procedures for technical work on complex electronic systems such as C5ISR Weapons Systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). GS-11 One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Providing guidance to other technicians on testing, trouble-shooting, and diagnostic techniques, 2) Utilizing computer software such as Logistic Modernization Project (LMP) to prepare documents and input data, AND 3) Developing standard operating procedures for technical work on electronics and/or industrial systems such as C5ISR Weapons Systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-10).

Education
