Duties
- You will provide technical assistance for urgent mission-degrading Casualty Reports (CASREP) or similar problems affecting assigned equipment.
- You will prepare technical reports (and formal correspondence when required) identifying significant aspects of the problems, their causes, and corrections applied.
- You will provide technical assistance on complex technical problems beyond the capability of forces afloat, intermediate maintenance activities, or repair activities to diagnose and correct.
- You will perform functional checkout, grooming, adjustment, and test of repaired, new or modernized shipboard systems in a systems qualifications test environment, a majority of which is at sea.
- You will serve as team leader of organized teams with responsibility for functional checkout, test, and inspection of major systems.
- You will assist Forward Deployed Naval Forces (FDNF) and deployed ships with Fleet Technical Assistance (FTA) for the Aegis Weapon Systems (AWS) Computer Suite on Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) equipped Navy platforms.
- You will provide the sustainment, fleet technical assistance and repair of Naval ships and craft.
- You will provide technical services to the following equipment and systems: Aegis Weapon Systems Advanced Baselines Computer Suite, Aegis Weapon Systems Computer Network and Integrated LAN System, and Ballistic Missile Defense 5.X Computing Suite.
Qualifications
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Troubleshooting, repairing, and configuring AEGIS weapon systems and their interfaces AND Solving problems affecting the AEGIS weapon systems with software, electrical, electronic, and other engineering disciplines AND Providing technical assistance for mission degrading Casualty Reports (CASREP) AND Providing technical services inspecting, repairing, and providing training on AEGIS computing systems.
