Summary

About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the OFFICE OF THE CHIEF OF STAFF, ARMY DIR OF ARSTAF PROGRAM MGMT DIR (PMD), JOINT BASE LEWIS-MCCHORD, WA.

Duties

  • Serves as a Logistical Management Specialist in the Program Management Directorate, Office of the Chief of Staff, Army (OCSA).
  • Identifying specific requirements to support the mission and correlating those requirements with program plans to assure that the needed support is provided at the right time and place.
  • Incumbent supports the organization in the procurement, shipment, receipt, storage, issue, and accountability of standard and non-standard equipment.
  • Manages and monitors the disposition of property and initiate actions required for obtaining shortages of all standard Army property. Coordinates the maintenance, restoration, and transportation of these assets into the Supply Support Activity (SSA).
  • Ensures proper management, coordination, control of inventory, systems of inventory management, maintenance, supply, transportation, and all other logistic requirements associated with security of and accountability of all property.
  • Performs staff and analytical work such as effectively using automated, mechanized, and coordinating for the use of other material handling equipment; allocating and using storage space; protecting - items stored.
  • Coordinates the maintenance, restoration, and transportation of these assets into the Supply Support Activity (SSA), Defense Reutilization Marketing Office (DRMO) for those Items no longer required in Army inventory.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience Statement (HR/SME): To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: 1) Experience planning and executing full lifecycle logistics management for standard and non-standard equipment, including global procurement and property accountability. AND 2) Experience interpreting logistics regulations to formulate policy and resolve complex supply discrepancies. AND 3) Experience managing secure storage and distribution operations within specialized facilities (such as SCIF). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position such as (Supply Chain & Logistics Management; Operations Management / Management Science; Defense Strategy & Logistics / Military Operations). OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
