LEAD PRODUCTION CONTROLLER (SHIPS)

Summary

Duties

• You will be responsible for planning technical and repair processes and services for diverse and complex shipboard equipment.
• You will lead the development of definitive work specifications, cost estimates and material requirements for overhauls/repairs.
• You will review specifications to ensure required level of quality assurance is incorporated in the job specifications.
• You will develop long-range plans for accomplishing current and projected workload schedules.
• You will analyze costs to assist in future estimate development and determination opportunities for efficiencies.
• You will manage division finances, productivity and process improvement
• You will lead a team by identifying, distributing and balancing workload and tasks among employees.
• You will train team members in methods and techniques of team building and working in teams to accomplish tasks or projects.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Leading production planning and developing cost estimates for ship maintenance and/or repair. 2) Developing and training others in problem solving methods, practices and procedures for ship repair and/or alterations. 3) Utilizing shipbuilding procedures and production methods to ensure quality control/assurance requirements.
