AIR CONDITIONING EQUIPMENT MECHANIC

Summary

You will serve as a AIR CONDITIONING EQUIPMENT MECHANIC in the PRODUCTION RESOURCES DEPARTMENT 900 of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.

Duties

• You will install, modify, repair, and test air conditioning and refrigeration systems associated with equipment.
• You will perform work involving system components, electrical controls, and mechanical assemblies required for proper system operation.
• You will determine system configuration, component placement, and installation sequence in accordance with technical guidance and established specifications.
• You will perform preventive maintenance inspections and services to ensure continued system reliability.
• You will work on a variety of systems associated with shipyard facilities and vessels.
• You will work from building plans, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to determine system configuration, component placement, and repair methods.

Experience performing using knowledge of all materials used, implementing ability to select proper material for each particular purpose. Experience interpreting blueprints, sketches, docking worksheets, and job orders to perform the duties of the AC&R.
