Summary

This position is in the Supervision/Management Work Category at the Senior Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. This position is for DISA White House Communications Agency at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, District of Columbia. This is an Excepted Service position and does not confer eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. If you are a current Federal Career/Career-Conditional employee, you will be placed on an Excepted appointment under 10 U.S.C. 1599f.

Duties

  • Performs as an expert Information Technology (IT) Specialist working in a number of specialty area to include policy and planning, security, systems analysis, applications software, operating systems, network services, and data management.
  • Performs the full range of activities relating to IT project management to include in-garrison support, trip site support, and continuity of operations locations.
  • Performs strategic planning, capital planning and investment control; resource management; architecture and infrastructure planning and management; technology insertion/modernization.
  • Serves as an expert advisor on policy development, coordination, and implementation.
  • Performs work involving the planning, installation, configuration, testing, implementation, and management of the WHMO Command and Control Network.
  • Performs first-line supervisory duties: plans, prioritizes, and schedules work. Assigns tasks based on organizational priorities. Addresses and deconflicts subordinate performance concerns.

Qualifications

In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below. Basic Requirements: Attention to Detail - Experience reviewing my own information technology-related work or data and have been responsible for reviewing the work of others to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency with standards Customer Service - Developing and maintaining relationships with customers, anticipating and assessing the current and future information technology needs of customers, and developing or identifying information technology products or services that are tailored to meet customer needs Oral Communication - Briefing senior-level management and IT staff on the status of information technology systems, projects, or daily operations, including the communication of complex technical information to a non-technical audience Problem Solving - Identifying alternatives to address unique, highly complex, or sensitive information technology-related issues. I have anticipated information technology-related problems and have identified and evaluated potential sources of information to generate alternative solutions Qualifying Experience: To qualify at the GG-14, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service. For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Experience in managing or leading teams responsible for hardware provisioning, operating system support across multiple platforms, physical layer connectivity, and enterprise-level asset accountability for both unclassified and secure networks; AND directing customer service operations, managing the valuation of non-standard technology requests, and administering compliance reviews or policy exception processes across a diverse, multi-component organizational landscape; OR planning, coordinating, and executing complex IT relocation projects, including establishing baseline technical infrastructure and network capabilities in support of organizational moves and transitions. Candidates must describe how they meet the qualifying experience and/or selective placement factor(s) within the body of their resume. All qualifications must be met within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement. Additionally, prior to reporting for duty the selectee must be found eligible for a DoD Top Secret security clearance with access to Special Compartmented Information (SCI) based upon an Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI), AND be approved for Presidential Support Duty in accordance with Department of Defense Directive 5210.55 (Yankee White - Category II, minimum). This is an Excepted Service position and does not confer eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. Education

There is no substitution of education for the Qualifying Experience at the GG-14 grade level.
