Monitors and evaluates student progress and performance. Provides management with accurate data for student administration. Maintains professional and technical expertise.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions, Training Instruction Series 1712 + IOR. BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT: *** THIS IS A CCAF POSITION ***For Community College of the Air Force GS-1712 positions only: Section 9315 of 10 USC directs the commander of the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) to comply with standards established by the Secretary of Education to confer associate degrees upon enlisted members who have completed the requirements for the prescribed programs of study. To comply with this directive, all faculty members of the Community College of the Air Force must meet minimum educational requirements as prescribed by the accrediting body Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Commission on Colleges (SACS-COC), i.e. all teachers must hold at least an associate's degree in order for the school to meet accreditation criteria. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes Knowledge of a wide range of instructional concepts, methods, and techniques required to develop and plan a variety of difficult and complex courses associated with teaching advanced Aircraft Structural Maintenance or subject matter areas. Knowledge of the methods, principles, practices, and programs related to curriculum development, instructional techniques, training resources, and structural maintenance. Knowledge of DoD, AF, and major command directives, concepts, procedures, guidance, and policy as they relate to the area of responsibility. Knowledge of service-based occupations and the associated training/certification requirements for military and civilian personnel. Knowledge of standard analytical and evaluative techniques to analyze training requirements, plan for and develop training materials, evaluate training effectiveness, and solve problems relating to training issues. OR EDUCATION: Successfully completed a Master's, or equivalent graduate degree from an accredited college or university or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., with a major study in education or a subject area related to the position to be filled. Education demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of a Training Instructor. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts with your application. OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in­-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of a wide range of principles and practical methods, techniques, and tools of instruction to teach a variety of students with a range of differences such as diverse ages, backgrounds, and levels of interest. Knowledge of Tactical Aircraft Maintenance Systems practices and procedures. Knowledge of Air Force technical training administration, policies and procedures to achieve the goals and objectives of the organization. Knowledge of safety, security, personnel management, and EEO regulation, practices, and procedures. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of a small to medium sized organization. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and establish and maintain effective working relationships. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
