Summary
Training Division - Glynco, GA The selectee of this position serves as a Training Coordinator Technician. You will be responsible for coordinating administrative aspects of assigned training program classes, conferences, and other training events.
Duties
- As a Training Coordinator Technician at the GS-1702-12 level, some of your typical work assignments may include: Preparing a variety of materials including training and classroom materials, training class rosters, training schedules, completion of student certificates, graduation awards and routine correspondence. Ensuring that proper Records Management practices are applied to the creation, maintenance, storage and disposition of Student Records, Class Files and other records in compliance with all applicable rules, laws, and regulations. Performing a variety of functions dealing with automated trainings systems and products. Responding to inquiries regarding training opportunities, regulatory requirements, eligibility requirements, application procedures, Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests; and other requests for information and guidance as needed. Maintaining contact with the student and working closely with the students' leadership to ensure the students are approved to attend training. Communicating effectively, orally and in writing, with future and current students, student's family members and other individuals external to the agency. Qualifications
GS-12 TIME IN GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-11 grade level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 grade level. (Must submit your SF-50 that shows Time-in-Grade eligibility and reflects your title, series, and grade. No award SF-50 will be accepted). You may qualify at the GS-1702-12 level, if you fulfill one of the following qualifications: Specialized Experience: Must have at least one year (52 weeks) of full-time specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the federal service performing the following duties: Planning, Coordinating, tracking, and evaluating training for employees; Compiling, analyzing, and managing data to ensure compliance with policies and procedures; Managing student training records in an automated system; Working closely with vendors, students, and management to schedule training programs; AND Providing direction and guidance on training programs to students, customers, and management. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Requirements
Must complete an initial online questionnaire and additional assessment(s). This is a bargaining unit position. Must pass a pre-employment security investigation and drug screening. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust background investigation. May be required to successfully complete a trial/probationary period. Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service. Verify Registration here. Must be a U.S. Citizen or National. You must meet all qualification requirements by the closing date of this announcement. Status candidates must meet time-in-grade requirements (52 weeks at the next lower grade level). Special Requirements: Must be able to obtain and maintain a Government Purchase Card (GPC) in accordance with the requirements, rules and regulations governing the GPC program within 12 months of assignment to the position. Must be eligible for a passport.
Education
Education cannot be used in lieu of Specialized Experience at the GS-12 grade level.
