Supervisory Facility Operations Specialist

Summary

You will serve as a Supervisory Facility Operations Specialist at Yellowstone National Park. The position is responsible and accountable for developing and implementing a complex facility management and engineering program.

Duties

• Serves on the Park's Senior Leadership Team and supervises over 270 employees for the Design & Facility Management Program. Oversees the park's facility operations, asset management, design, and project management programs which includes housing and fleet management as well as major construction. Responsible for ensuring employees' safety and wellbeing by developing and maintaining programs that follow applicable protocols and proactively identify and mitigate workplace hazards. Responsible for the financial management of the Design & Facility Management Program. Collaborates across work groups and stakeholders - including other park divisions, concessionaires, partners, and agencies - to implement the Design & Facility Management Program, maintaining continual awareness of the impact of decisions and operations.

Qualifications

Competitive candidates must also meet Time-in-Grade requirements as defined in 5 CFR 300, Subpart F. To qualify for this position at the GS-14 grade level, you must possess the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement: EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as: overseeing a large, multimillion dollar Facility Management operation, to include project planning and execution, road and utility infrastructure, as well as recurring daily operations. You must include hours per week worked. You must include months, years and hours per week worked to receive credit for your work and/or volunteer experience. One year of specialized experience is equivalent to 12 months at 40 hours per week. Part-time hours are prorated. You will not receive any credit for experience that does not indicate exact hours per week or is listed as "varies". Experience listed as full-time will be credited at 40 hours per week. Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

In the absence of agency action to affirmatively certify continued employment beyond the probationary or trial period, such appointments are terminated. Upon completion of your probationary period your employment will be terminated unless you receive certification, in writing, that your continued employment advances the public interest. This is a supervisory position that may require completion of a supervisory probationary period.
