Summary

The primary purpose of this position is: To provide customer interface and provide positive work force control for Operations Flight. Relay daily job assignments to Foreman and craftsmen, monitor progress of work, input daily and weekly work schedule for approximately 225 personnel, and provide status to customers on work orders, job orders, and provide general guidance. Duties

  • Serves as customer service focal point for Civil Engineer Squadron for Joint Base Charleston and its mission partners. Maintains accountability of work orders and preventative maintenance. Conducts pertinent training and processes applicable to Civil Engineer Customer Service and maintains accurate customer information. Prepares, tracks, and maintains the in-service work plan (IWP) and all associated processes.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions, Equipment Facilities and Services Series 1603. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-06, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience include knowledge of production methods and processes, labor, manpower, and material requirements: Knowledge of governing supply regulations, policies, procedures, instructions, and local requirements to ensure support for facility maintenance and repair, or other operations for urgent, critical shortage, and other special items; Knowledge of work scheduling and proper accounting procedures for cost centers and reimbursable data codes. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-06 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-07 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of safety requirements, methods, practices, techniques, materials, and equipment to determine compliance with DoD and AF directives, federal, state, and local codes and environmental regulations. Knowledge of work order procedures, skill level, tools, equipment and procedures in the operation and maintenance of each assigned craft. Knowledge of work scheduling, time keeping, and labor reporting. Ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing and knowledge of report writing techniques to present factual information clearly. Ability to use CE information data management systems and relevant software programs such as to create and maintain databases, spreadsheets, construction plans, and related documents. Ability to plan, organize, review and develop scope of work and develop government cost estimates. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
