Duties
- You will serve as an expert advisor to management by analyzing and evaluating major contractual and procurement matters for substantial mission-oriented programs and providing sound recommendations effectively.
- You will establish work schedules with management to ensure necessary planning, coordination, approvals, negotiations, and other contractual requirements are completed accurately, efficiently, and on time.
- You will review completed procurement work for compliance with applicable statutes, regulations, contracting methods, policies, procedures, contract types, and other legal and regulatory requirements.
- You will apply advanced knowledge of procurement principles and contracting techniques to support long-term pre-award and post-award actions, including complex requirements that affect program decisions.
- You will develop and present recommendations to managers on complex, long-range, or interrelated procurement issues that may significantly affect the content, interpretation, or development of programs.
- You will use a thorough understanding of business strategies, policies, systems, goals, procedures, and technical requirements to resolve procurement challenges and support successful program execution.
Qualifications
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or NH-02 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: - Knowledge of assigned contracting and procurement specializations and applicable contracts including commercial and noncommercial contracts executed under the Federal Acquisition Regulation and Other Transaction Authority procedures; - Planning, coordinating, negotiating, and assuring completion of approvals for long term pre-award and/or post-award procurement actions are completed within a timely manner; and - Evaluating cost and pricing strategies. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
Education
Basic Education Requirements for GS-5 through GS-15 (or equivalent) positions: A bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution authorized to grant baccalaureate degrees.
