Summary

This position is part of the Defense Human Resources Activity. The incumbent will be responsible for providing "assistive technology" and support. "Assistive Technology" (AT) includes assistive, adaptive, and rehabilitative devices such as ergonomic keyboards and monitor risers for people with dexterity issues, recording devices and memory queuing aids for people with cognitive issues, and text magnification software for people with low vision.

Duties

  • As a Supv Management Program Analyst (Computer/Electronic Accommodations) at the GS-0343-14 some of your typical work assignments may include: Program Execution: Executes a program designed to remove accommodation barriers for the hiring, placement, promotion, and retention of Federal Government employees with disabilities, as well as wounded, ill, and injured Service members. Operational Oversight: Formulates operational decisions and solutions for civilian employees and contractor-performed work, ensuring all activities conform to procedural documentation, records management, and information assurance regulations to reduce program risk. Policy and Process Improvement: Develops, implements, and recommends policies and operational business practices to ensure the timely and effective provision of assistive technology, ensuring compliance with federal laws, regulations, and strategic goals. Supervision and Team Management: Provides administrative and technical supervision to a team of government employees by planning, organizing, and assigning work, managing performance, handling grievances, and overseeing personnel actions like hiring and training. Assistive Technology and Support: Provides and manages the delivery of "assistive technology" (AT) and support, including adaptive and rehabilitative devices and software, to accommodate a wide range of disabilities such as vision or hearing loss, cognitive issues, and dexterity challenges. Stakeholder Engagement and Consultation: Manages the CAP Technology Evaluation Center (CAPTEC), conducts workplace needs assessments, and demonstrates assistive technologies for a diverse audience, including senior officials, managers, and federal partners.

Qualifications

You may qualify at the GS-14, if you fulfill the following qualifications: A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service: Conducting comprehensive program analysis and leading project management initiatives that deliver assistive technology. Experience with section 508 compliance, accommodations, or related support services for individuals with disabilities within a Federal agency or Department of Defense (DoD) component. Managing complex project lifecycles, evaluating program effectiveness, and coordinating acquisition, budget formulation, and policy development activities to optimize service delivery and mission outcomes. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
