Summary
This position is located within the U.S. Parole Commission (USPC), Office of the Chairman. The U.S. Parole Commission's function is to make parole release decisions for eligible Federal and DC prisoners, determine the conditions of parole, and determine the sanctions when the conditions of release are violated. The major duties of the position are overseeing the administrative operations in the Office of the Chairman, correspondence control, and support service coordination.
Duties
- The duties and responsibilities for a GS-0301-12 generally include, but are not limited to, the following: Serve as the Senior Staff Liaison to the Chairman and other senior staff at the U.S. Parole Commission Schedule and coordinate meetings and the Chairman's staff meetings; serving as recording secretary for U.S. Parole Commission - coordinating the preparation and distribution of approved minutes of meetings, record keeping, case material documentation, etc. Plan and execute major liaison activities in support of the Office of the Chairman that impact many USPC echelons Oversee technical review of correspondence prepared for the Chairman's signature to ensure consistency with agency procedures on completeness, timeliness, and format standards Coordinate the preparation of written responses to congressional, judicial, and other inquiries on issues related to parole decision-making
Qualifications
To qualify for the position of Senior Staff Liaison, at GS-0301-12, you must meet the basic qualification requirements listed below. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE For the GS-12, applicants must possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or equivalent pay band experience in: 1) Serving as secretary for executives or senior staff members; organizing calendars, coordinating meetings, control of correspondence, and/or managing office operations; 2) Preparing administrative documents, correspondence, and/or memorandums for executives or senior staff members; AND 3) Recommending and/or enforcing office management improvements in administrative areas (e.g. office schedule, office correspondence, and/or desk operations for internal/external stakeholders) You MUST meet all qualification requirements, including time-in-grade, by the 09/08/2026 of this announcement.
