Summary

Department: 56 Force Support Squadron (FSS) Marketing Department Funding Type: Non-Appropriated Fund (NAF) Employment Type: Flexible (No guaranteed hours, no benefits) Core Mission: In this role, you will support the day-to-day operations of our sports and fitness facilities. You will interact directly with active duty members, retirees, and their families, ensuring they have a safe, clean, and welcoming environment to achieve their fitness goals.

Duties

  • Customer Service & Front Desk Operations: Greet visitors, answer phone calls, and verify eligibility of patrons entering the facility. Ensure only authorized patrons use the facility and adhere to established rules, regulations, and policies. Provide general information regarding scheduled sports events, classes, and facility features. Assist in resolving customer complaints and elevate complex issues to the supervisor. Facility & Equipment Management: Issue and receive athletic and recreational equipment; inspect check-out items for cleanliness and good repair. Maintain indoor fitness areas, including clean locker rooms, wiping down equipment, and returning weights/accessories to their proper locations. Maintain reservation systems for sports courts and fields. Conduct and record hourly headcounts and report safety infractions or potential hazards. Perform opening and closing procedures for the facility in accordance with written guidelines. Inventory & Funds Handling: Safely handle and safeguard funds collected at the front desk. Inventory, restock, and display retail or check-out items, and provide the equipment manager with lists of re-order needs. Account for towels and uniforms received from laundry contractors; wash and dry towels and uniforms as needed. Event Support: Assist with setting up facilities, grounds, and equipment for special programs, fitness events, and tournaments. Perform minor maintenance or adjustments on fitness equipment as needed. Qualifying Experience: To qualify for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria: Experience: No professional fitness experience is required, but you must possess basic customer service experience and be able to perform simple clerical or office tasks. Computer Skills: Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, Windows operating systems, and ability to navigate the World Wide Web. Communication: Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both orally and in writing, with a diverse customer base.

Education

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements.
