Recreation Aid

Summary

This is a NAF position with the 17th Force Support Squadron, located at the Event Center, within the Community Services Flight on Goodfellow AFB, San Angelo, Texas. This position is considered Flexible. The position is not guaranteed any hours, but has the potential to work up to 40 hours per week. You may be required to work some nights, weekends and holidays. As a flexible employee, you are not eligible for leave or benefits.

Duties

• Performs and/or assists other recreation assistants and event center staff in the operation and maintenance of indoor and/or outdoor recreational facilities. Keeps resale area clean and stocked with items, informs manager when stock levels are low and there is need for purchases. Insures all posters and flyers are current, assists in maintaining a clean facility. During special catered events, may have to help with cleaning tables, pouring tea and water, etc. Decorates facility for holidays and special programs. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Practical knowledge of setting up rooms for special event and procedures for setting up events is desirable, but not required. Must be able to obtain a Food Handler's certificate. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a Tier-1 investigation.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
