Summary

THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a SOCIAL WORKER-Title 5, Position Description Number T59128P1 and is part of the WI 128 ARW, Wisconsin Air National Guard. This position is in the Exceptive Service "under the authority for Title V, P.L. 114-328, Sections 932 and 1084 (FY17 NDAA)"

Duties

  • Actively supports the commander's leadership team in addressing the psychological health of their installation. Provides strategic planning and leadership to implement an ANG comprehensive psychological health strategic plan. Conduct annual training for unit leadership on psychological health issues and the ANGPHP. Serves as the Air National Guard community liaison with military and non-military agencies to promote timely information exchange, coordinate collaborative prevention efforts, and establish and maintain an extensive array of resources, associations, and community partnerships. Provides on-site and telephonic access to psychological health assessments and individual consultation to facilitate coordination of clinical, counseling, and other services promoting the psychological health of NG members and their families. Qualifications

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Social work degree and must fulfill all of the requirements for the master's degree in social work in a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. The applicant's record of experiences, training, licensing, and education must show full possession of the competencies needed to fully perform the position's required duties and responsibilities. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: To qualify for the GS-12, you must have 24 months of experience in clinical social work assignments. Completion of the Air Force Social Work Internship Program may be substituted for 12 months of the specialized experience requirement. This experience demonstrates particular competencies of knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Must have specialized experience in professional social work that includes interviewing people to establish the nature and extent of their problems, helping them work-out plans for improving the situation, providing assistance and services, referring them to community resources and other organizations as indicated, and assisting them to understand and modify their own patterns of behavior when appropriate. Except as stated above, no other substitution of education for specialized experience is allowed. *Must possess a current, unrestricted license to practice clinical social work independently in any one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or the U.S Virgin Islands*

Requirements

Master's in Social Work from an institution accredited by the Council on Social Work Education is highly desired. Other mental health degrees and training as identified in AFI 44-119 (Medical Quality Operations) are acceptable. Candidate must be a fully qualified Mental Health professional IAW AFI 44-119. Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance. Selective Placement Factor: Possess a current, unrestricted license to practice clinical social work independently in any one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or the U.S Virgin Islands. Must be privileged for independent practice by the Credentials Committee at the employing Medical Treatment Facility. A minimum of two (2) years within the past five (5) years in the independent practice of clinical social work is highly desired. Position requires Basic Life Support (BLS) in accordance with local MDG policies. Must be obtained with 6 months of onboarding. Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft. Incumbent may share on-call duty during weeknights and/or weekends on a rotational basis. This position may be identified as having "regular contact with children," requiring a State Criminal History Repository (SCHR) check to be completed on any person selected for the position. Completion of appropriate clinical and administrative duties may involve "after hours" care or work in addition to regular duty hours to include mandatory drill weekends. Must be able to obtain and maintain privileging for the DOD/AFMS/ANGMS IAW DHA PM 6025-13 Vol 4 and DAFMAN 44-119. Must maintain credentials requirements at all times (i.e. current and unrestricted state license, BLS, clinical competencies, etc.) IAW DHA PM 6025-13 Vol 4 and DAFMAN 44-119. 6/14/2022 TCPC Cramner. This position is designated as Essential Personnel and may be subject to duty in preparation for, or in response to, a state emergency or disaster declaration. Head of Agency requests to exceed 14 days in a calendar year must be approved in advance. Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation. May be required to successfully complete a probationary period. Participation in direct deposit is mandatory. May be subject to furlough actions. Acceptance of a Federal position may terminate Tricare eligibility. Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.

Degree: Social work. Must fulfill all of the requirements for the Master's degree in social work in a school accredited by the Council on Social work Education.
