Summary

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Direct-Hire Auth (Domestic DIB, MRTFB) to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. Duties

• Respond to emergency calls and alarms, assesses probable cause, exercises search and arrest authority, and performs initial lifesaving first aid as a first responder.
• Collect and preserve physical evidence, conduct routine preliminary investigations, and interview witnesses. Prepare case facts under established guidelines and provides clear, truthful testimony in military, federal, or state courts.
• Operate specialized traffic equipment (radar, Lidar, breathalyzer) during patrols, conduct investigative stops, issue citations, executes high-speed pursuits when necessary, and manage traffic control points.
• Protect personnel, tactical military assets, and high-value assets by executing comprehensive Antiterrorism/Force Protection measures to deter and deny unauthorized access, and maintains proficiency through installation AT exercises.
• Operate National Crime Information Center terminals to transcribe data in compliance with regulations. Generate standard police reports, processes fingerprints/DNA samples, and prepare administrative documentation.

Qualifications

To qualify at the GS-07 grade level: I have one year of specialized experience at the GS-06 grade level which includes performing standard law enforcement duties, including responding to emergency calls, securing incident scenes, and enforcing local, state, or federal laws; conducting preliminary investigations, including interviewing witnesses, collecting and preserving evidence, and apprehending suspects; and preparing detailed law enforcement reports and utilizing law enforcement databases to input and retrieve criminal data.
