This announcement is for the Biological Science Technician (Wildlife), to clear ICTAP/CTAP priority lists. Duties

• Some of the duties you will perform include, but are not limited to, Assist the Wildlife Biologist in the implementation wildlife population monitoring and species recovery projects. Utilize a variety of computer programs to compile, store, retrieve, analyze and report data including GIS. Collect and record biological data and prepares summary reports. Assist with the assessment of habitat quality/quantity through GPS field mapping and wildlife population estimation techniques. Assist with wildlife population monitoring utilizing radio tracking equipment. May assist with live trapping, handling, and/or translocation of wildlife species.

Qualifications

All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement-09/21/2026-unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement. Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. To qualify for this position at the GS-05 level, you must possess one of the following: EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as: experience which demonstrates that you have the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of this position. Examples of qualifying specialized experience include assisting and conducting wildlife censuses and surveys and assembling the information such as habitat use, sex age, and movement. Follow standardized procedures to collect data on condition of range, forage, or wildlife. Use statistical methods and procedures to perform testing of field data collected. Assists in control of wildlife, participates in capture, applies visual and radio tags, prepares graphs, charts, and illustrations for reports and technical publications relating to wildlife management activities. You must include hours per week worked. -OR- EDUCATION: Successful completion of at least four (4) year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree with major study or at least twenty-four (24) semester hours in any combination of scientific or technical courses such as biology, chemistry, statistics, entomology, animal husbandry, botany, physics, agriculture, or mathematics. At least six (6) semester hours are directly related to the position such wildlife biology, zoology, ornithology, etc. You must submit a copy of your transcripts that identifies for each course the college or university, semester or quarter hours earned, grade received, and date completed. -OR- Successful completion of a COMBINATION of education and experience as described above. You must have a combination of specialized experience as described above and education as described above which total 100 percent. Only education beyond the sixty (60) semester hours above high school is considered qualifying when combined with specialized experience. Thirty (30) semester hours beyond the first sixty (60) is equivalent to six (6) months of specialized experience. For example, six (6) months of specialized experience (50% of the specialized experience requirement) and 90 semester hours with at least twelve (12) semester hours related to the position and three (3) hours directly related to the position (50 % of the education requirement) would be considered qualifying. You must include transcripts. If you do not include this information, you will not receive credit for that experience. Credit for experience is given on a 40-hour workweek. Part-time experience is credited on a part-time ratio (e.g. working 20 hours per week for two months equals one month of experience). No additional credit is given for overtime. ICTAP/CTAP Statement: Current surplus and current or former displaced Federal individuals who have special priority selection rights under the Agency Career Transition Assistance Program (CTAP) or the Interagency Career Transition Assistance Program (ICTAP) must be well qualified for the position to receive consideration for special priority selection. Requirements

U.S. Citizenship required. Area of Consideration for this position refers to the ICTAP/CTAP hiring authority/eligibility and not the physical location of the position. Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication. Males must meet Selective Service Registration Act requirement. Selectee will be required to participate in the Direct Deposit Electronics Funds Transfer Program. Occupancy of government quarters may be required. Government housing may be available but is not guaranteed. Use find a park to contact specific parks for more information on government housing. You may be required to wear a uniform and comply with the National Park Service uniform standards. A uniform allowance will be provided. You may be required to work on-call, evenings, weekends, holidays, overtime and/or shift work. You may be required to operate a government (or private) motor vehicle as part of your official duties. Prior to your first official motor vehicle operation, and again every year thereafter (or more frequently if management determines such need exists), you will be required to sign an affidavit certifying to your possession of a valid State issued driver's license that is current and has not been revoked, suspended, canceled, or otherwise disqualified in any way to prohibit your operation of a motor vehicle. You will also submit a photocopy of your valid State issued driver's license prior to your first official motor vehicle operation, and again every year, or more frequently if management determines such need exists. Lastly, you may be required to submit (within a State sealed envelope or submitted directly by the State authorities), and at your own expense, all certified driving records from all States that discloses all valid driver's licenses, whether current or past, possessed by you. Education
