Duties

  • Serves as the Group Sales Manager that supervises assigned staff working under the direct supervision of the Assistant General Manager. Incumbent manages the prospecting, and all other related processes associated with securing group business consisting of room nights and functions to meet or exceed budgeted financial goals at SOG, a multi-faceted resort, comprised of lodging facilities, conference and event space, various food and beverage outlets, a wide range of metropolitan activities and a fitness center. Responsible for market research and generating reports related to group business revenue potential, prospecting efforts, tentative and definite booking results. Formulates and executes extensive proactive sales action plans to ensure maximum group occupancy of the hotel from PACOM and CO NUS populations. Responsible for telesales, internet-based marketing, social media, email, outside sales calls, and attending networking events and tradeshows. Establishes and continually strengthens enduring business relationships with key clients and maintains an accurate and detailed database of contacts. Works with the Marketing team to develop special programs, inclusive packages, multi-media marketing tools, advertisements, proposals, and other marketing collateral to enhance group awareness and generate group inquiries. Performs other duties as assigned. Travels as required to include frequent in-country visits to other installations to conduct road shows and meetings with prospective customers.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS MUST BE CLEARLY VERIFIABLE IN YOUR RESUME. GOVERNMENT POSITIONS MUST INCLUDE PAY PLAN, SERIES, GRADE, TO AND FROM DATES, AND GOVERNMENT AGENCY/DEPARTMENT. A qualified candidate must possess the following: Demonstrated professional experience directly related to the duties to be performed. Knowledge of resort conference operations or resort group sales. Possess ability to communicate effectively to target audiences orally and in writing. Professional experience giving briefings and or presentations to a variety of audiences. Experience using sales and marketing tools to identifying market segments, set goals and increase revenue. In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified": Possess demonstrated knowledge of military demographics and market.
