About the Position - This position is located at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland at Kirk U.S. Army Health Clinic. Incumbent will provide clinical social work services in an outpatient behavioral health setting. This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Duties

• Collect bio-psycho-social information about patients.
• Conduct individual and group clinical counseling.
• Provide case management services to effectively manage patients enrolled in outpatient programs.
• Perform a variety of quality management/quality assurance duties.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on psychiatric diagnosis.
• Work closely with multi-disciplinary treatment staff to synchronize efforts of care.
• Provide concise documentation of care and recommendations.
• Evaluate results of counseling methods to determine the effectiveness of treatment used.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Basic Requirement for Social Worker (Clinical): Degree: Master's degree (or higher degree) in Social Work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. AND License: A current, active, valid, and unrestricted independent social work clinical licensure from a U.S. State, District of Columbia, Commonwealth, territory, or jurisdiction is required. (Note: You must attach a copy of your license.) In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Conducting bio-psycho-social evaluations of patients; 2) Providing individual, and group counseling ; 3) analyzing clinical information to formulate diagnoses; and 4) Developing behavioral health treatment plans for patients.. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
