Summary

You will serve as an ADMINISTRATIVE/TECHNICAL SPECIALIST in the SPECIAL PROGRAMS BRANCH in the SECURITY DIVISION, CORPORATE OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT of NAVUNSEAWARCENDIV NEWPORT RI. This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The NT-04 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-11 and GS-12. The NT-05 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-13 and GS-14.

Duties

  • You will implement the Special Access Security program for all special security projects under his/her cognizance.
  • You will provide security oversight and ensure compliance with all applicable DoD, Navy, and NUWC governing policies and directives, Program Security Guides, and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • You will work with stakeholders, (both internally and externally), to ensure new programs and projects coming to the Command have the adequate support, levels of effort and funding to support the project.
  • You will lead the special access program security staff in ensuring indoctrinated personnel adhere to all policies and procedures governing the storage, receipt, transmission, inventory, and destruction of classified material.

Qualifications

For the NT-05: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-04 pay band (GS-11/12 grade level equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: interpreting information, operations, and physical security concepts, procedures, and practices to analyze and investigate security issues, recommend solutions, and advise personnel on the handling and safeguarding of classified materials in accordance with security guidelines and regulations. For the NT-04: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-03 pay band (GS-9/10 grade level equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: applying information, operations, and physical security concepts, procedures, and practices to identify security issues and recommend solutions on the handling and safeguarding of classified materials in accordance with security guidelines and regulations. Education

For the NT-04 level only, in lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience: Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; OR Successful completion of three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree; OR Successful completion of an LL.M. degree that is related to the position being filled; OR A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
