This is a National Guard Title 32 Excepted position for a HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT (MILITARY), Position Description Number PDD1106000 , and is part of the SC MILPO, South Carolina Army National Guard.
Duties
- This position is located in the Military Personnel Office (MILPO) of the Army National Guard. The purpose of this position is to serve as the final reviewer and procedural authority of personnel actions submitted to the MILPO by lower echelons. Work is to be performed in one or more of the following work areas: Officer or Enlisted Personnel Management (OPM, EPM); Retirement Points Accounting Management (RPAM); Selected Reserve Incentive Program (SRIP); Montgomery G.I. Bill; MOS Medical Review Board (MMRB); Line of Duty (LOD) investigations; and Funeral Honors/Casualty Assistance. Work in this series includes clerical and administrative support positions performing clerical, assistant, or technical work which requires knowledge of the procedures, established guidelines, and techniques involved in carrying out the work of the organization.
Qualifications
THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION OPEN TO THE FOLLOWING AREA OF CONSIDERATION (AOC): Area of Consideration: This position is open to Areas 1 and 2 Only. Area 1: Current employees of the South Carolina Army National Guard (Tenure 1 and 2) Area 2: Current members of the South Carolina Army National Guard Area 3: Any individual eligible for membership in the South Carolina Army National Guard *Temporary and Indefinite employees do not meet permanent tenure requirements and are not eligible for Area 1. GENERAL EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position with experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Must have at least one-year specialized experience, education or training that provided knowledge of general office work which may include but is not limited to: answering telephones, receiving and distributing mail and maintaining records. Experience following oral or written instructions to accomplish work. Experience establishing and retrieving files and information. Experience using common computer software designed for word processing. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT & NOTES: 1. Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position. 2. This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position. 3. Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission. *4. Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day. 5. Education
Substitution of Education for specialized experience - Bachelor's degree with Superior Academic Achievement for two-grade interval positions in a course of study that directly reflects the job-related KSAs/competencies necessary to satisfy the minimum qualifications and perform the duties of the position, or, 1 academic year of graduate education (or law school, as specified in qualification standards or individual occupational requirements) in a course of study that directly reflects the job-related KSAs/competencies necessary to satisfy the minimum qualifications and perform the duties of the position.
