Summary

This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does not convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command. It is in the Supervision/Management Work Category at the Senior Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DoD Cyber Defense Command (DCDC).

Duties

  • Serves as a subject matter expert on cyberspace training programs and strategies, providing valued input to strategy,policy,technology integration and representing the organization at joint conferences and working groups.
  • Manages a comprehensive cyber workforce development and certification standards program, to include testing, skills certification, plans, policy, platforms and individual development plans.
  • Leads doctrinally-sound analyses of cyber training objectives/requirements, and develops, implements program initiatives and standards to address the needs of the cyber workforce.
  • Develops doctrinal guidelines for individual development plans and coordinates with vendors/higher command to ensure team members receive training essential to perform their duties and meet objectives.
  • Represents the organization in discussions with external partners to establish joint training ventures and evaluates training programs/platforms to ensure they meet operational requirements.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements: Attention to Detail - experience reviewing my own information technology-related work or data and have been responsible for reviewing the work of others to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency with standards Customer Service - developing and maintaining relationships with customers, anticipating and assessing the current and future information technology needs of customers, and developing or identifying information technology products or services that are tailored to meet customer needsOral Communication - briefing senior-level management and IT staff on the status of information technology systems, projects, or daily operations, including the communication of complex technical information to a non-technical audience Problem Solving - identifying alternatives to address unique, highly complex, or sensitive information technology-related issues. I have anticipated information technology-related problems and have identified and evaluated potential sources of information to generate alternative solutions. Qualifying Experience: In addition to meeting the basic requirement, applicants must possess qualifying experience. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service. For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Developing or modifying automation information systems for organizational readiness or applying structured planning processes to develop operational plansor integrating modeling, simulation, or communication technologies to facilitate training programs. Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Education

There is no substitution of education for the qualifying experience at the GG-13 grade level.
