Summary

You will serve as a Supervisory Facility Operations Specialist with National Park Service in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania at Gettysburg National Military Park.

Duties

• As a Supervisory Facility Operations Specialist, you will perform the following duties: Monitors and evaluates maintenance programs affecting park operations. Manages Facility Management Software Systems for cost effective management of assets. Develops and implements management strategies. Performs and maintains asset inventories and condition assessments. Coordinates project scope, goals, and objectives. Manages the division's budget. Oversees the process for reporting loss time incidents. Implements safety and training programs. Identifies program and operational deficiencies. Exercise full range of supervisory duties for 4 or more subordinates.

Qualifications

All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement - 09/21/2026-unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement. Individual Occupational Requirements: To qualify for this position at the GS-12 level, you must meet the following Individual Occupational Requirements: Experience: To qualify, you must possess at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). Specialized experience is defined as: experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to successfully perform the duties of this position. Examples of this experience include but are not limited to activities such as: 1) Managing a maintenance program for office or apartment building complexes, hospitals, recreation facilities, military, or other special-purpose installations, including planning maintenance activities, and developing preventive maintenance programs. 2) Conducting surveillance activities over construction and maintenance operations performed by a variety of private contractors, including reviewing project plans and specifications for workability, informing contractors of construction and reporting requirements, and supervising operations for conformance with project plans. 3) Performing maintenance or construction work, including estimating material and labor costs for a variety of construction or maintenance projects (such as construction or maintenance of brick, frame, structural steel, reinforced concrete, and other type structures ranging from one or two-story buildings to larger structures), directing actual work operations, and maintaining appropriate contacts with the organization funding the project. You must include hours per week worked. Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

This is a supervisory position that may require completion of a supervisory probationary period.
