The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the 23d Wing's Integrated Maintenance Data System (IMDS) Host Data Base Manager and to provide health of fleet analysis to improve aircraft and system reliability. Duties
- Critical Provides management for Integrated Maintenance Data System (IMDS) directly supporting to the 23dWing and Moody AFB. Monitors the structural data integrity of IMDS. Maintain the Data Integrity Team (DIT) to audit and ensure accuracy of documented data in the MIS. Leads and/or conducts maintenance analysis studies.
Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the Specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-06, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes using knowledge of the basic principles, concepts, and methodology used in Maintenance Data Systems; applying a wide range of methods to identify, gather, analyze, and evaluate information concerning aircraft and maintenance performance and processes to improve unit performance, equipment conditions, and evaluate overall health of the fleet; using various software and data systems to perform a variety of functions such as generating tables and graphs; and using knowledge of word processing software procedures and function keys to generate tables of contents, import graphs or databases, create glossaries, align multiple columns, automatically print document identification or other notations at the top or bottom of each page, and create form letters. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-06 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-07 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of the Integrated Maintenance Data System (IMDS). Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. This includes public speaking/briefing senior leadership on a daily/weekly/monthly basis. Ability to plan, organize work, and meet deadlines to the group, wing and HQ(ACC). Ability to coordinate with outside agencies (i.e. REMIS, ACC) in order to manage wing database and analysis issues/concerns. Review database backup procedures to ensure data retention and consistency. Knowledge of Microsoft office operating environment to include MS Excel, MS Word, MS Power Point, and MS Access. Ability to analyze data and trends and determine appropriate changes needed to improve aircraftsystem reliability and performance metrics. Able to gather, assemble, and analyze data and aircraft/maintenance facts, draw conclusions, and devise solutions. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
