Summary

THIS IS A TITLE 32 DUAL STATUS POSITION DUTY LOCATION: 103d Air Control Squadron (ACS), Orange, CT AREA(S) OF CONSIDERATION: Area 1: All currently employed full-time permanent and indefinite personnel of the CTANG. Area 2: All currently employed full-time temporary technician personnel and all current traditional members of the CTANG. Area 3: Individuals eligible for membership in the CTANG. Membership must be satisfied within four (4) months of selection.

Duties

  • JOB SUMMARY: The purpose of this position is to plan, organize, evaluate, and train activities of the Battle Management Command and Control (BMC2) mission which includes the Air Battle Manager (ABM) and Weapons Director (WO) career fields. This position is required to maintain qualification as an instructor/evaluator/trainer for ABM or WO. Provides training for advanced instructor techniques, student assessment, and evaluation criteria. This position also supervises any combination of the following programs: Training (DOT), Standards and Evaluation (CCV), Weapons and Tactics (DOK), and Mission Training Planning (MTP). Serves as an ABM or WO as a CRC crew member performing mission operations duties in support of combat, peacetime, humanitarian and Personal Recovery (PR) missions; to perform unit air operations command/control and related staff support duties. NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED. This is an excepted position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the Connecticut Air National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the Connecticut Air National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the Connecticut Air National Guard. The major duties include, but are not limited to: Performs as an instructor for the Air Battle Manager/Weapons Director position. Conducts training that maintains the highest level of combat mission-ready proficiency of assigned crewmembers, instructors, and examiners. Maintains the qualification to perform as an evaluator while managing a crew and assigning duties. Performs mission crew duties as an ABM or WD. Maintains qualification to perform mission crew duties as an Air Battle Manager (ABM) or Weapons Director (WD).

Qualifications

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training interpreting, explaining, and/or applying a variety of regulations and procedures. Experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Your resume and any other supporting documentation you wish to provide must clearly substantiate you currently possess 36 months of specialized experience in the following: Experience, education, or training arranging or procuring transportation for personnel, cargo or freight. Experience in nonroutine pre and post auditing of freight bills, bills of lading, and personnel transportation vouchers. Experience coordinating and negotiating with organizations/personnel both orally and in writing to resolve differences/problems. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Knowledge and skill in weapons control as well as in airspace and data link management. Knowledge of surveillance and data equipment; activities; surveillance situation analysis; detection, tracking, reporting, display, and dissemination of air situation, and tactical threat information is implied. Ability to monitor multiple stations simultaneously. Knowledge of Air Battle Manager concepts and principles. Knowledge of crew operations and missions of supported units. Ability to work in a highly stressful, quick reaction environment and to train others to work in such an environment. Knowledge and skill in oral and written communication techniques and the ability to communicate clearly, concisely and effectively. Ability to demonstrate mastery of the full performance level knowledge and skills as an Air Surveillance Officer (ASO) and Air Weapons Officer (AWO). Knowledge of the methods of instruction and training concepts and practices and the skill and ability to apply this knowledge to provide crew and ground training that maintains the highest level of combat mission-ready proficient crew members. Knowledge of radar operation fundamentals, characteristics, and limitations of airborne warning C2, surveillance, and mission systems. Knowledge of and skill in surveillance, target detection and tracking, reporting, receiving, displaying, recording and relaying threat data. Knowledge and capability to comprehend, plan, coordinate and apply communications methods and analytical techniques. Knowledge of and skill in reading and interpreting computer-generated console situations and tabular displays, electronically generated data and air tasking orders. Knowledge of and skill in ECM and ECCM functions. Knowledge and skills of operating radar, data link, and communications systems requirements. Knowledge of mission planning activities and the knowledge and skill to interpret ATO's and SPINS. Knowledge of and skill in emergency procedures and equipment. Knowledge of publications maintenance as pertains to mission crew positions. Knowledge of theater ground and air activities. Knowledge of and skills on EA/EP procedures. Knowledge of the Theater Air Control System (TAGS) organizations, programs, missions, functions and policies to be able to integrate the units operations into those of the active duty supported units. Ability to work as a BMC2 crew team member or team leader and effectively coordinate with other team members. Knowledge of inter-operability and integration of command, control, communications, computers and intelligence is a requirement.
