Summary

About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and is located at the Mig Bowling Alley on Osan AB, South Korea. This position requires shift work to provide coverage on days, evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. Scheduled hours will be 0-40 per week with no minimum guarantee. For overseas positions, qualified applicants with military spouse preference and family member preference receive hiring priority over other applicants.

Duties

  • A Recreation Aid at a bowling center supports daily operations, provides customer service, and helps ensure guests have a safe and enjoyable experience. Duties may vary by facility, but commonly include: Greeting customers and assisting with lane assignments and reservations. Operating the front desk, handling check-ins, payments, and shoe rentals. Issuing and collecting bowling shoes and other rental equipment. Monitoring bowling lanes to ensure safe and proper use. Assisting customers with basic scoring system or lane equipment questions. Performing minor lane or pinsetter troubleshooting when trained, or reporting equipment issues to maintenance staff. Keeping the facility clean by wiping tables, organizing seating areas, cleaning rental shoes, and maintaining restrooms and common areas. Enforcing facility rules and safety procedures. Setting up and supporting leagues, tournaments, birthday parties, and special events. Stocking supplies such as score sheets, rental items, snacks, or cleaning materials. Providing excellent customer service by answering questions and resolving routine customer concerns. Assisting with opening and closing procedures, including cash handling and securing equipment if assigned. Following all workplace safety, security, and sanitation standards. Skills typically required Strong customer service and communication skills. Basic cash handling and computer/POS system experience. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Ability to lift and carry bowling balls, shoe racks, or supplies (often up to 25-50 pounds, depending on the employer). Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Practical knowledge of recreational activities, rules and procedures. Ability to safeguard and handle cash and skill in the use and maintenance of various recreational equipment and facilities are desirable; however, no experience is required. Direct handling of cash items, and use of cash accountability control methods is required. Must be 18 years old or older to service alcohol. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical. Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds. Successful completion and favorable adjudication of applicable background investigation (Tier 1 Level/NACI) is required. Education
