ELECTRONIC INDUSTRIAL CONTROLS MECHANIC

Summary

Duties

• You will plan and lay out work from electrical and electronic block diagrams, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical orders.
• You will perform functional tests to determine if any operating defects are present by exploration of probable reasons and to locate equipment, component, and/or subassembly malfunctions.
• You will install, overhaul, repair, fabricate, and or modify various types of electronically controlled industrial equipment characterized by moderate complexity of design, construction, and function.
• You will perform preventive maintenance on electronic control systems to include disassembly, cleaning, reassembly, and calibration.
• You will review work order requirements reflecting systems to be overhauled, repairer, fabricated, or modified.

Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. The Screen-out Element for this position is: I have the ability to perform common tasks including installing, maintaining, testing, troubleshooting, repairing, and calibrating various types of electronically controlled equipment, including Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems.
