About this job

Summary

You will serve as a PAINTER in the MRO PRODUCTION DEPARTMENT, PRODUCTION LINES DIVISION of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST.

Duties

  • You will examine, evaluate, prepare and apply protective and decorative coatings and paint finishes to aircraft components, engines components, GSE and other major components.
  • You will paint insignias, lettering and designs on selected components, and apply decalcomania transfers and stencils to identify or decorate aircraft, engine, and GSE components.
  • You will perform high finish, critical tolerance painting on aircraft, engine, and GSE components.
  • You will apply specialized and sophisticated coating material to high speed aircraft and engine components such as lacquers, silicones, SermeTel, dry film lubricants, and weather resistant polyurethane.
  • You will apply moisture barrier coatings for corrosion control, mix paint coatings to required viscosity, mix and pump for application of silicone rubber to engine components, and use bake ovens to cure most all of the shop processes.
  • You will use the current computer system to document work performed and make necessary status transactions.
