Duties

  • Serve as a senior Primary Care–Mental Health Integration (PC-MHI) Program Manager responsible for the full lifecycle development, implementation, and evaluation of PC-MHI policies, procedures, and strategic initiatives.
  • Provide expert guidance to Defense Health Agency (DHA) leadership on all aspects of PC-MHI operations and ensure program alignment with DHA and Department of War priorities.
  • Lead continuous quality improvement efforts to strengthen clinical effectiveness and operational efficiency.
  • Provide clinical and procedural consultation to PC-MHI staff and Medical Treatment Facility leadership, ensuring adherence to evidence-based practices, professional ethics, and DHA guidelines.
  • Oversee the execution, training, and clinical direction of Integrated Mental Health Consultant (IMHC) and Mental Health Care Facilitator (MHCF) roles across designated Defense Health Networks (DHNs).
  • Monitor data-driven outcomes, identify emerging needs, and establish program initiatives that enhance access, quality, and continuity of behavioral health services within primary care settings.

Qualifications

Basic Requirement Clinical Psychologist GS-0180-14: Degree: Doctoral Degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology. License: A current, active, and unrestricted license as a Psychologist in a state, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a Territory of the United States. (NOTE: You must submit a copy of your license with your application package). In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes managing a behavioral health program; developing clinical policies, guidelines, or standard operating procedures for psychological services; evaluating program outcomes and clinical data to drive healthcare quality improvement; and providing expert consultation to leadership. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
