Duties
- Oversees the performance of independent and objective financial management assessments, audits, reviews, evaluations, and analysis of enterprise financial management systems.
- Oversees Federal Information System Controls Audit Manual (FISCAM) information systems internal controls.
- Manages the validation and accuracy of data and the detection of inconsistencies in processing and management reports.
- Oversees review and certification efforts and advises on the correction of internal controls in accordance with FISCAM and National institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) standards and guidance.
- Manages the creation, validation, and provision of advise regarding corrective action plans for control weaknesses, their follow-up, and closure.
Qualifications
One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-13) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. Specialized experience is defined as: Technical advisor on the design, implementation, maintenance, and/or operation of all or major portions of a finance or accounting system; Resolving issues impacting the planning, implementation, and/or evaluation of organization-wide financial management programs; and developing and implementing operational solutions to improve the effectiveness of a large finance organization. You may qualify for consideration if meeting specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement. The Security Designation will vary and dependent upon position and may require a secret clearance or higher. Employment in this position requires a background investigation which may delay starting date. Individuals selected are required to obtain/maintain a favorable security determination to occupy a sensitive position within the agency as a condition of employment.
