Summary

THIS IS AN INDIANA NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION This position is part of the IN JFHQ IN J1, Indiana National Guard under Position Description Number D2020000. If you would like the complete list of duties, please contact the POC of this announcement.

Duties

  • Assists with the planning, development, coordination, implementation, and daily administration of the YRRP to include the contracting of conference facilities, lodging, meals, and professional onsite child care.
  • Serves as an advisor on the YRRP Program and family program issues relevant to the service members and their families during the deployment cycle, with the intent of maximizing readiness of the service members and their families.
  • Assists in planning, maintaining, and updating an ongoing system of information and referrals for use by the military community.
  • Provides necessary assistance to units and/or individuals to ensure accomplishment of all Deployment Cycle Support tasks during appropriate phases of the deployment cycles.
  • Assist with ensuring accuracy and timeliness standards for the reporting requirements within their state are met, for inclusion in the nationwide Yellow Ribbon Reintegration Program Report.
  • Maintains up-to-date Yellow Ribbon Program benefits, support services, and readiness library consisting of directives, policies, regulations, SOPs, and program material.
  • Serves as representative at conferences and meetings on family programs and Yellow Ribbon Program matters.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

MILITARY GRADES: E4 through E6 GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education or training which provided a general knowledge of principles of organization, management, and administration. Compiling reports, letters, memoranda, etc., and required person-to-person contacts to convey information. Progressively responsible experience which demonstrates the ability to provide technical guidance and assistance in the type of work or in comparable work of the position to be filled. Experience using computer and automation systems. AND SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: 1 year specialized experience, education or training equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Applicants must have experience providing technical guidance and assistance in the type of work or in comparable work of the position to be filled. Applicants must have a thorough knowledge and understanding of administrative procedures and practices of management. Experience developing administrative procedures.

Education

To receive credit for Education, you must provide transcripts or documentation of proof that you meet the Education requirements for this position. You may combine education with specialized experience to meet the length of experience requirement for GS-09. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the line of work. For the GS-09 level: To qualify on education alone applicant must have one of the following: master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related. Only graduate education in excess of the amount required for the next lower grade level may be used to qualify applicants for positions at grade GS-9 including qualifying with combination of education and experience.
