Duties
- DUTIES: As a ORDNANCE EQUIPMENT MECHANIC (D2573000), WG-6641-10, you will provide munitions support to the state and designated agencies in support of their taskings. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: There is frequent standing, bending, and working in tiring positions, although there is occasional sitting down at test consoles or workbenches. It is required to lift, push or pull a variety of items weighing up to 100 pounds or heavier weights with assistance. WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Works inside and outside; in inclement weather; on icy, wet, and slippery ramps and work stands; and in temperature and humidity extremes. Subject to dangers from exposure to toxic fumes, high pressure air and fluids, fast actuating metal aircraft surfaces such as landing gears, speed brakes, engine noise, heat blast, intake suction; explosive munitions; chemical munitions, electrical voltage, cartridge actuating devices; liquid oxygen, fire or explosion of aircraft fuels, lubricants, paints and solvents. Risk of cuts, bruises, scrapes, burns, respiratory irritation, explosions, and high voltage electrical shock. Wear of safety-toed boots, hearing, and eye protection is required.
Qualifications
IMPORTANT INFORMATION: This position requires military membership in the Puerto Rico Air National Guard (PRANG). If you are not a military member of the PRANG (i.e. member of the PR Army NG, civilian, active-duty Airman, prior service, Airman member from another state, reservist, IRR, State Guard, etc.), you must contact the ANG Recruiting and Retention Superintendent (RRS) Office at (787) 529-2094 or (787) 529-6740 to request the PRANG Military Basic Requirements (MBR) Certification. If the MBR certification is not submitted, your application will not be screened. AREA OF CONSIDERATION: HRO MUST process and clear the Department of Defense (DoD), Priority Placement Program (PPP), prior to advertising all internal and external job vacancies and promotion announcements. AREA 1 = All permanent Enlisted employee's members (NG T32/NG T5) within Puerto Rico Air National Guard. AREA 2 = All indefinite Enlisted employee's members (NG T32/NG T5) within Puerto Rico Air National Guard. AREA 3 = Enlisted currently serving members of the Puerto Rico Air National Guard. (M-Day/ DSG) AREA 4 = Prior (former) Enlisted members of the Puerto Rico Air National Guard. AREA 6 = US Citizens Applicants who meet all requirements to become Enlisted of the Puerto Rico Air National Guard. (If the MBR certification is not submitted, your application will not be screened). First round consideration will be given to Area 1 Candidates. (All other Areas will be screened only in the event that there are no qualified or recommended Candidates). To prevent a grade inversion, military rank allowed for this position will be determined at the final evaluation of the vacancy announcement considering the military rank of the supervisor. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience or training which has provided the candidate with the knowledge and application of mechanical and electrical principles and the skill to perform intricate repair and adjustment of hydraulic and pneumatic components and devices. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicant must possess at least ONE (1) year in the occupational series code 6641, or the equivalent EIGHTEEN (18) months of specialized experience performing or supervising duties such as managing allocations, stock levels, inventories, requisitions, and disposition of munitions; coordinating scheduling of complete, custody, special munitions inventories and compiles inventory adjustment packages; establishing and maintaining an effective munitions inspection program for all munitions assets; managing warehouse munitions stockpiles, maintaining storage area infrastructure and facilities, vehicles, and equipment; processing munitions movement transactions; developing, maintaining and utilizing a Master Storage Plan to the maximum extent possible; performing Assembles/Disassembles, adjusts configuration, maintenance/tests & repairs, handles and transporting ammunition, decoys, countermeasures; troubleshooting electrical/mechanical faults of integrated systems; performing Pre/Post Flight inspection and flight line return inspections; examining ordnance systems using a variety of standard precision instruments, gauges and methods; performing maintenance on electrical, pneumatic, and high pressure air tanks subsystems and assemblies; performing inspections on armament, support, and associated test equipment using a wide variety of processes and techniques; ensuring the effective flow of information, scheduling, and use of available resources; managing Nuclear Certified Equipment Program; developing, maintaining, coordinating, and integrating Emergency Action Checklists with outside agencies; complying with safety and security requirements; complying with all Federal, State, DOD, USAF, and local regulations concerning hazardous materials/waste munitions assets.
