Summary
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Serves as an IT Specialist (SYSADMIN) and performs technical computer systems administration and customer support tasks within a US Army Garrison directorate.
Duties
- Diagnoses and resolves problems in response to customer reported incidents.
- Develops and maintains problem tracking and resolution databases.
- Installs, configures, troubleshoots, and maintains costumer hardware and software.
- Provides costumer training on IT related programs.
Qualifications

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. In order to qualify for the GS-11, you must demonstrate in your resume at least one year of specialized experience which includes: providing advanced technical support to end-users or other technicians; interacting with lower-tiered support personnel to facilitate complex problem recognition or management; and logging corrective actions taken and escalating more complex problems to senior level technicians. his definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). In addition, your resume must reflect IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below: 1. Attention to Detail 2. Customer Service 3. Oral Communication 4. Problem Solving OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research,statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Information Technology Customer Support Problem Solving Technical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
