Summary

About the Position: Serves as Operations Division, River Operations Branch Property Book Officer with responsibility for developing annual inventory schedules for hand receipt accounts, ensuring the conduct of inventories by hand receipt holders, inspecting accounts, and ensuring the process of reports of survey and/or investigations as required from lost, damaged, or destroyed property.

Duties

• Develops the annual inventory schedule for approximately 35 hand receipt accounts.
• Inspects accounts on a regular basis to ensure proper and timely record keeping by hand receipt holders
• Reviews the property management process to ensure full accountability and maximum efficiency of procedures.
• Performs and monitors established systems of inventory accountability and control.
• Utilizes an automated database program to assure all requisitions for the purchase of equipment, personal property, and supplies are properly reviewed for accuracy.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Conducting physical inventory counts to reconcile discrepancies in automated property records; 2) Providing supply operations support pertaining to specialized or unique supplies or equipment; and 3) Preparing property disposal and transfer paperwork to document lost, damaged, or excess equipment. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). OR Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages.(Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
