Summary

This position is located in Housing Services within Facility Management under the Division of Administrative Services at the Crownpoint Service Unit, Crownpoint, New Mexico. The employee administers the housing program and manages the operation and utilization of family housing facilities and other assets in association with the Facility Maintenance Services. A REAL ID will be required beginning May 7, 2025, in accordance with 6 C.F.R. 37.5 (2021).

Duties

  • Reviews and replies to all housing requests for employees and non-IHS employees. Coordinates the operation, upkeep, and utilization of housing assets with other departments in order to assure timely maintenance, alteration, minor construction, painting, repairs and inspections. Plans, implements, monitors and evaluates subordinates' work in quarter's assignment, inventor, cleanliness, and grounds maintenance. Reviews and maintains the housing program budget for operation purposes. Coordinates and distributes workload among subordinates and developing work schedules for the work unit.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. Specialized Experience: Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Applicants who have the 1 year of appropriate specialized experience, as indicated in the table, are not required by this standard to have general experience, education above the high school level, or any additional specialized experience to meet the minimum qualification requirements. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: GS-09 Specialized Experience: Develop and implement housing policies and procedures for tenant transactions, i.e., assignment, terminations, inspections. Answers questions regarding procedures of the management of government housing/quarters. Conduct quarters inspections for the housing section following pre-established criteria and policy. Facilitate meetings to ensure updated government housing rules, regulations and policies are communicated to both management and the tenants; OR Master's or equivalent graduate degree; OR Completion of 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree; OR LL.B. or J.D. in related course work Time In Grade Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).

Background Investigation Requirement: This position requires the successful completion of a federal background investigation as a condition of employment. Timely completion is critical to avoid delays in processing or a determination of unsuitability.
