Summary

About the position: This position is Non-Appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the 773d FSS Marketing Department on JBER, AK. This is an open/continuous announcement intended to fill multiple vacancies as they come available. Applications will be reviewed every 14 days, with the first review scheduled for 11-Sep-2026. Duties

  • The primary function of this position is to develop, design, and produce visual marketing, publicity, and media products for the 773d Force Support Squadron (773 FSS). Works under the guidance of the Marketing Director to implement the visual marketing program. Responsible for designing, producing, and distributing a variety of promotional materials including flyers, posters, logos, banners, brochures, digital ads, and direct mail pieces from written, oral, or rough sketches. Creates visual displays to stimulate interest in special programs and events through the use of colorful materials, artistic designs, and photography. Uses graphic software (primarily the Adobe Creative Suite: Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and Microsoft Office to complete marketing assignments. Writes, posts, edits, and publishes original text, images, and video through social media platforms and websites to build community connections and promote 773 FSS participation. Conducts daily and periodic maintenance and content updates for the 773 FSS website. Takes studio and event photography/videography of FSS programs, facilities, and special events. Assists the Marketing Director in developing communication strategies, planning marketing campaigns, and conducting market research (administering surveys, collecting data, tabulating responses). Maintains organized files of photos, videos, display boards, and publication samples. Provides support for special events, which may include night, weekend, and holiday events. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Must have progressively responsible experience demonstrating a strong working knowledge of graphic and advertising design, as well as general art and design principles. Must demonstrate the ability to create graphic illustrations and lay out advertising copy using desktop publishing and photo/digital image editing software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere). Must be able to arrange and compose material and maintain well organized digital files. Strong knowledge of web design/maintenance (HTML, CSS, Content Management Systems) is highly advantageous. A college degree or specialized training in art, graphic design, studio photography, or a computer-related field may be substituted for experience. Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, and possess skill in dealing courteously with customers and the public.
