Summary

THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT ANALYST, Position Description Number T5636P01 and is part of the 107TH ATKW, National Guard. This vacancy does not meet the criteria for appointment of annuitants.

Duties

  • As a FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT ANALYST, GS-0501-9/11, you will plan, coordinate, and perform comprehensive Accounting and Financial Management analysis, decision support and quality reviews, of base level accounting and financial management programs.

Qualifications

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience in collecting and analyzing data effectively, efficiently, and accurately; applying procedures and directives by reading and interpreting program material; presenting formal training presentations and briefings; and ability to prepare reports and presentation formats. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-9: Must have 1 year equivalent to at least next lower grade level. All personnel must be certified at the next higher level before being eligible for that level. Experiences gained through military technical training schools are included in the one-year on-the-job experience. Must have fundamental working experiences with a validated understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the occupational series and grade. The applicant's educational degree study program or military or civilian academic courses may substitute for some specialized experience. Must have experience and extensive knowledge of military pay and allowances, civilian pay and allowances, vendor payments, and travel entitlements. Experience with governing regulations and a thorough understanding of pertinent laws, regulations, and other technical criteria in order to determine propriety of entitlements and pay. GS-11: Must have 1 year equivalent to at least next lower grade level. All personnel must be certified at the next higher level before being eligible for that level. Experiences gained through military technical training schools are included in the one-year on-the-job experience. Must have fundamental working experiences with a validated understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the occupational series and grade. The applicant's educational degree study program or military or civilian academic courses may substitute for some specialized experience. Must have experience and knowledge of related financial regulations and rulings covering diverse types of pay transactions to typically function as a technical authority for the resolution of an extensive range of issues or problems. Experience and knowledge of the overall DFAS mission and functions, operation, and relationships to other agencies to respond to special inquiries and task organizations for information and responses. Education

Minimum Educational Requirement: Completed undergraduate or graduate education, the awarded college degree should be in one of, or a combination of the following disciplines: accounting, business, finance, economics, math, statistics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organizational management. OR If using only education to qualify for the GS-09 position, must have master's or equivalent graduate degree or2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., in a related field. If using only education to qualify for the GS-11 position, must have Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., in a related field. OR Combining Education and Experience: Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have an combination of specialized experience and education beyond a four year degree in a related field to the position. Graduate Education: Education at the graduate level in an accredited college or university You must provide a copy of Official Transcripts as documentation to support your educational claims.
