Duties
- ***THIS IS NOT A VIRTUAL POSITION, YOU MUST LIVE WITHIN OR BE WILLING TO RELOCATE WITHIN A COMMUTABLE DISTANCE OF THE DUTY LOCATION*** Major duties and responsibilities include: Performing personnel administration to include recruitment actions, position classification, performance standards, disciplinary actions and grievance procedures. Establishing human resource policies for the service. Evaluating space utilization to make recommendations. Adapting analytical techniques and evaluation criteria to measure and improve program effectiveness and/or productivity. Reviewing orders for supplies, services and equipment. Preparing procurement requests. Maintaining procurement and contracting records. Analyzing budget needs for a department or office. Developing internal controls to assure sound fiscal management. Compiling budget information and maintaining running account of fund allocation and expenditures. Performing other duties as assigned. Qualifications
IN ORDER TO QUALIFY FOR THIS POSITION AT THE GS-09 LEVEL YOU MUST MEET ONE OF THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE GS-9: You must have at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-7) in the Federal Service that has given you the particular knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform the duties of an Administrative Officer, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience includes advising on a variety of human resources policies and procedures such as performance standards, grievance procedures and disciplinary actions; performing budget formulation, justification, and execution; managing procurement and contracting activities. (THIS EXPERIENCE MUST BE SUPPORTED BY YOUR RESUME TO BE CREDITABLE.) ~OR~ SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE GS-9: You must have successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or an LL.B. or J.D. (related to the position) from an accredited college or university. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the Administrative Officer position. One year of full-time graduate education is considered to be the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent 1 year of full-time study. If that information cannot be obtained from the school, 18 semester hours should be considered as satisfying the 1 year of full-time study requirement. Part-time graduate education is creditable in accordance with its relationship to a year of full-time study at the school attended. . The education portion must include graduate courses that demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the Administrative Officer position and must have been obtained in an accredited college or university. One year of full-time graduate education is considered to be the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent 1 year of full-time study.
