MILITARY & FAMILY READINESS SPECIALIST

Summary

THIS IS AN INDIANA NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION This position is in the Excepted Service under the authority of Title V, P.L. 114-328, Sections 932 and 1084 (FY17 NDAA) This position is part of the IN JFHQ IN J1, Indiana National Guard under Position Description Number PD#T57014P1. Duties

• Serve as fully independent advisor within geographical area of responsibility in accomplishing all objectives of the Soldier and Family Readiness Program (SFRP) for the Army National Guard to maximize retention and readiness.
• Manages and operates family assistance center and provide assistance to commands within geographical area of responsibility in support of the SFRP.
• Provide training and technical support to Commanders and Family Readiness Liaisons to support their Unit Family Readiness program and Soldier and Family Readiness Groups (SFRGs).
• Submit information to support development and budget forecasting to support the Soldier and Family Readiness Support Program to higher headquarters.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education or training which provided a general knowledge of principles of organization, management, and administration. Compiling reports, letters, memoranda, etc., and required person-to-person contacts to convey information. Progressively responsible experience which demonstrates the ability to provide technical guidance and assistance in the type of work or in comparable?? work of the position to be filled. Experience using computer and automation systems. AND SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: 1 year specialized experience, education or training equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Applicants must have experience providing technical guidance and assistance in the type of work or in comparable work of the position to be filled. Applicants must have a thorough knowledge and understanding of administrative procedures and practices of management. Experience developing administrative procedures. Knowledge required in applying analytical and evaluative techniques to identify, consider, and resolve issues or problems of a procedural or factual nature. Education

To receive credit for Education, you must provide transcripts or documentation of proof that you meet the Education requirements for this position. You may combine education with specialized experience to meet the length of experience requirement for GS-09. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the line of work. For the GS-09 level: To qualify on education alone applicant must have one of the following: master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related. Only graduate education in excess of the amount required for the next lower grade level may be used to qualify applicants for positions at grade GS-09 including for combination of education and specialized experience.
