Summary
About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and is located at the Arts and Crafts Center at Yokota AB Japan. This is a Flexible position (guaranteed 0-40 hours).
Duties
- Asisting customers with service options, providing accurate price quotes, and escalating complex design issues or customer complaints as necessary. Utilizes professional graphic design software to create custom design proofs for customer approval. Operates engraving & printing machinery in compliance with all safety and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) protocols, and performs routine equipment maintenance, cleaning, and troubleshooting. Performs a final quality check to ensure the finished product meets design and quality standards. Maintains clear communication, setting realistic turnaround times, and notifying customers when orders are ready. The incumbent leverages approved software and system tools to manage, track, and securely archive customer orders and records. Tracks inventory and supplies, including performing monthly and quarterly inventory counts. Coordinates supply chain needs by sourcing materials, receiving shipments, and submitting timely purchase requests to maintain operational readiness. Participate in ongoing training to maintain proficiency in required software and operational procedures. Tracks internal customer requests and provides basic order information to the office for processing. Provides general customer service support for the Arts & Crafts Center. On occasion, this role performs cashier duties, which include operating the Point-of-Sale (POS) system to receive customer payments in strict adherence to established financial regulations. Utilizes applicable cash control forms and ensures all money is handled accurately and securely. Deposits daily cash funds, receipts, and associated paperwork into the designated cash drop box at the close of business. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Must possess basic computer literacy and the aptitude to quickly learn specialized graphic design and printing software, paired with an interest in technical production. Strong customer service skills are crucial, including a proven ability to interact effectively with the public and excellent oral and written communication abilities. Given this is a position of trust, the ability to satisfactorily complete Tier-1 Background check is required. Must be capable of standing, bending, and stooping for extended periods, lifting and carrying items up to 40 pounds, and must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical. Additionally, have experience in clerical or office work, including the ability to perform common arithmetic problems, is essential. Prior experience with graphic editing software is preferred.
